The year of 2023 has given me and taken from me so much.
But given all the ups and downs, I think I can manage this way better than before because I am now more stable in every possible aspect particularly financially.
Recently it seems I felt drawn back to the period of 2017-2018 when I hustled a lot like any other young man at my age with an aspiration of some economic success.
I may not be the richest man on earth but I know really well that where I am now is better that where I used to be. And I thank God for that.
So if you ask me what is that one piece of advice that makes it possible for me to go through 2023, I’d say: “Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.“
Rumi the philosopher said the line aeons ago.
I truly believe that. So much I didn’t cry when I was let go this year.
For some others, it might be soul crushing news. But as for me, I think I have saved enough to go on living for several years ahead if I’m not making any cents.
So I’m now taking some time to enjoy life which I also have been doing for the last several years. Boy, am I so skillful at it.
Stable finance, slow living in the suburbia, some remote work to pay my bills, and yoga gigs that bring money are what I am so thankful for this year.
Rumi’s thought also goes in line with this Quranic verse:
There is no god but He; to Him is the final goal. (Qur’an, Surah al-Mu’min, 40:3).
That’s how I know what should be my beacon in this journey.
That way, I will never ever feel lost.
How about you? What’s your favorite piece of advice that enables you to keep going despite a tough 2023? For real, I want to know that.
Regardless, let’s stay clear headed despite whatever coming on our way in 2024…. (*/)
